Our Rotary Club

Rotary International

We are part of Rotary International. It is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

It all began with Paul Harris, a Chicago attorney who formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, in 1905. It was a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.

The Paul Harris Fellow award is given to those who donate $1000 or more to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International in their own or another person’s name. It is for tangible and significant assistance given to further understanding and friendly relations among people around the world. There are 20 such Fellows in our Rotary Club.

We hope you will want to join us in helping to make Leechburg and the world a better place!

“Whatever Rotary may mean to us, to the world it will be known by the results it achieves.”
– Paul P. Harris, Rotary Founder
